SLP Music Studio Aims to 'Enrich Your Music Experience'

Maestoso Music Studio, which opened this past February, features former employees of both Trestman Music Center and Eckroth Music.

One St. Louis Park business is working hard to educate local musicians, after years of working in the Twin Cities music scene under a variety of names.

Maestoso Music Studio opened at 5816 W. 36th Street this past February, featuring former employees of both Trestman Music Center and Eckroth Music. When Eckroth moved to a larger facility in Roseville earlier this year, several educators interested in still serving St. Louis Park musicians banded together to form Maestoso Music Studio.

Owner Lara Dietrich said she sees the Park as a tremendous community for music education, considering its central location and the strong music programs in SLP schools.

"I have found the community in St. Louis Park to be extremely supportive of the music studio, whether it was Trestman, Eckroth or the new Maestoso," Dietrich said. "I am grateful that we are able to continue serving this community."

Half-hour lessons at Maestoso range from $20-30, with the music studio offering lessons for any band or orchestra instruments, in addition to piano and guitar. Dietrich employs eight independent music teachers at the studio, who are all available by appointment. Students range in experience level as well as age, including everything from five to 75-year-olds

Maestoso differs from most music studios, as Dietrich said it's run by the teachers and for the students.

"[We're] always accepting new students," Dietrich said. "Whether you are a complete beginner or coming back to your instrument after 30 years, individual music lessons are a great way to enrich your music experience."
