SLP High School Band Alums Celebrate Record Label's 5th Anniversary

Two graduates of the St. Louis Park High School band program were in town this weekend to celebrate the fifth anniversary of "Tandem Shop," their Indie Rock record label.

Megan Frestedt and Sam McAllister met in the St. Louis Park High School band, where they played oboe and saxophone.

Shortly after graduation, the pair came together for their first musical collaboration on an album written by McAllister.

On Saturday, Frestedt and McAllister played a set in Minneapolis with their Indie Rock band, "Project Film," to celebrate the fifth anniversary of "Tandem Shop," the Chicago-based record label they co-founded in college.

In our video above, watch the St. Louis Park natives chat about the joys of running a record label, reminisce about high school and sing and strum in the style of Ben Gibbard.
