(VIDEO) Westwood Hills Celebrates 30 Years

The visitor building at the St. Louis Park nature center opened in 1981.

Volunteers at the decided to celebrate the center's 30th birthday by doing what they do best—showcasing nature and having fun.

The Saturday afternoon event in St. Louis Park brought out a number of families for free puppet shows, canoe rides and live animal exhibits.

The visitor building at the 160-acre preserve opened in 1981, and the nature center has been educating people from St. Louis Park and beyond ever since. Westwood Hills is open daily to the public, and school groups also routinely visit.
