This Weekend, Head to "Oklahoma!"

St. Louis Park Patch gives you some fun events to check out while you're off the clock.

In the mood to get out of the house this weekend? If so, mosey on down to "Oklahoma!" at the St. Louis Park High School. While you're at it, head downtown for some gardening tips. These and three other events are Patch's weekend best-bets:

Why Go: It’s quite possible that the wind sweepin’ down the plain will bring the sweet smell of spring.

Where: Minneapolis Convention Center, 1301 Second Ave. S., Minneapolis

When: Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Sunday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Why Go: One more chance to get fresh home improvement ideas before spring. And if that doesn’t excite you, perhaps the celebrity experts will.

Price: Adult $13 ($10 if purchased online), child (6-12) $4, child (5 and under) free

When: The opening reception is Thursday, 6-8 p.m. Otherwise, the gallery exhibit will also be open Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.

Why Go: Heidi Nelson’s paintings are sure to inspire.

Price: Free

 

Where: Bean Good Cafe

When: Saturday, 7-9 p.m.

Why Go: Live music will definitely help lower snow levels to approximately two feet deep.

Price: Free

 

Where: Edina

When: Sunday, 3:30-5:30 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy familiar (or possibly unfamiliar) Bach and Mozart pieces performed by a 22-piece orchestra and 80-voice choir.

Price: $15 Adults, $5 students (K-12); tickets available at the door
