This Weekend, Get Out and Enjoy the Outdoors

St. Louis Park Patch gives you some fun events to check out while you're off the clock.

After a heat wave earlier in the week, the temperatures have fallen into a much more comfortable range, and this weekend should be no exception. With plenty of sunshine and highs in the mid-70s, it should be a great time to enjoy some fun, outdoor events. Here are a few recommendations:

When: Friday through Sunday

Where: Any fishing location in the state of Minnesota.

Price: Adults can fish without a license while accompanying a child 15 years or younger.

 

When: Starting Friday, the beach will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Where:   Minnetonka

Why Go: Let the summer swimming fun begin. Visitors will also enjoy the new community play area.

Price: $5 per person (ages 2 and under are free), $3 per person after 6 p.m.; Season pass rates are also available at the .

 

When: Saturday, 1-4 p.m.

Where:   St. Louis Park

Why Go: Enjoy an afternoon of outdoor family friendly activities, including live animal presentations, refreshments and puppet shows.

Price: Free

 

When: Saturday, 1-5 p.m.

Where: Various along the bicycle boulevard on 40th street in Minneapolis from the Mississippi River to Lake Harriet.

Why Go: Family friendly recreational events including bike decorating, obstacle courses, live entertainment and more.

Price: Free

 

When: Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: The Centrum Building at Edina

Why Go: The Edina Model Yacht Club will have 100+ radio controlled electric, steam and wind powered boats on display and in action.
