Neil deGrasse Tyson, Famed Astrophysicist, Speaking in St. Louis Park

The scientist will see his profile elevated this spring with the airing of a reboot of "Cosmos," the Carl Sagan television series.

The renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, whose reboot of the Carl Sagan television series, "Cosmos," will air this spring, is coming to St. Louis Park in May to lecture at Beth El Synagogue.

The speech, sponsored by The University of Minnesota’s Bell Museum of Natural History, is part of the Inspiring Minds series that has brought notables such as Gloria Steinem and Michael Pollan to the synagogue in recent years.

Tyson, the director of the Hayden Planetarium in New York, is the recipient of eighteen honorary doctorates and the NASA Distinguished Public Service Medal, the highest award given by NASA to a non-government citizen. 

He was voted Sexiest Astrophysicist Alive by People Magazine in 2000.

Tickets for his speech are $500 for VIP, $180 for priority seating, $60 for general admission and $25 for senior citizens and students.
