Grab & Go Kids Planner: Famous Skater and Fabulous Feathered Flyers

Patch helps you plan family friendly outings with a few great event suggestions.

There are plenty of family friendly events worth checking out in the next few days. On Saturday, an Olympic figure skating champion will be at a Minneapolis book store for a reading. And on Sunday, head outdoors to get a "bird's"-eye view of some majestic animals. Those events and more below:

When: Thursdays, 4-7 p.m.

Why Go: Teens can hang out, play games and receive homework help in a safe and positive environment.

Price: Free

 

Where: , Golden Valley

When: Fridays, 10-11:30 a.m.

Why Go: Enjoy an alternative indoor atmosphere to run, jump and crawl with your child (ages 1 to 5 years).

Price: $3 per child, pay at the door

 

Where: Wild Rumpus, Minneapolis

When: Saturday, 12:30 p.m.

Why Go: The famous figure skater will make her debut appearance at the Wild Rumpus, where she will be reading her new book "Dream Big, Little Pig!"

Price: Free, but be sure to register ahead of time

 

Where: , Edina

When: Saturday, 2-3 p.m.        

Why Go: Teens in eighth grade and up can learn the basics of job searching, filling out applications and interviewing.

Price: Free, but you must register ahead of time by calling 952-847-5914

 

Where: , St. Louis Park

When: Sunday, 3-4 p.m.

Why Go: Learn all about raptors and even meet the resident red-tailed hawk. Afterward, borrow a pair of binoculars to go on a self-guided raptor-seekingadventure outside.

Price: $4.50 per St.Louis Park resident, $5.50 per non-resident
