Five Fun Things to Do This Weekend

With unseasonably warm weather, this weekend should be a great time to get out and have some fun. Here are some event suggestions to make that happen:

  • When: Friday, Oct. 7 and Saturday, Oct. 8, 7 p.m.
  • Where:  Hopkins
  • Why Go: The musical adaptation of the back-to-school classic will have kids on their best behavior.
  • Price: Adults $15, seniors (60+)/youth (4-17) $12, youth (3-4) lap pass $5, free lap pass for youth 2 and under

  • When: Friday, Oct. 7, 9:30 p.m.
  • Where:  St. Louis Park
  • Why Go: Get a little country this weekend when Greene and Hurst performs.

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 8, 2-4 p.m.
  • Where:St. Louis Park
  • Why Go: Beginners can get basic stroke instruction, otherwise you and your family are set free to explore the nature of Westwood Lake. Canoes, paddles and lifejackets are provided.
  • Price: Per Canoe - $17 for residents, $21 for non-residents

  • When: Sunday, Oct. 9, 10 a.m.
  • Where:  Edina
  • Why Go: Join a community effort to be healthy and enjoy the beautiful autumn colors on a 5-mile bike ride through Edina.
  • Price: Race day registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and costs $10 per person with a $20 maximum per family.

  • When: Sunday, Oct. 9, 1-4 p.m.
  • Where: Whole Foods Market (1001 Plymouth Road, Minnetonka)
  • Why Go: Check out the new Whole Foods Market while enjoying the harvest season with live music, festival fare and seasonal activities.
  • Price: Free, but please RSVP
