The Minnesota State Fair is great, but plenty is going on in the west metro, too.

Don't get us wrong—we here at Patch love the . Heck, we've even been recommending . But variety is the spice of life, and there are plenty of fun things to check out closer to home this weekend. Here are some highlights:
