2012 Twin Cities Holocaust Remembrance Day Commemoration

The 2012 Twin Cities Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) Commemoration will be held Thursday, April 19, at 7:00 p.m. at Beth Jacob Congregation (1179 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, MN 55118).  The commemoration will reflect the theme, “UNsilenced: Voices of the Holocaust,” featuring Ovation, the performance choir of One Voice Mixed Chorus, Minnesota’s GLBTA Chorus; with a special performance by Minnesota Orchestra Associate Principal Cellist Janet Horvath.

If the Beth Jacob parking lot is full, attendees are encouraged to park in the Mendota Heights City Hall lot, on the south side (the highway side) of Victoria Curve in front of the synagogue, and on both sides of Victoria Curve past Hunter Lane.

The annual Yom HaShoah Commemoration honors the memory of the six million Jews and other victims murdered in the Holocaust.  As is tradition at Yom HaShoah, Holocaust survivors are invited to light candles in memory of the victims of the Holocaust.  Members of the Children of Holocaust Survivors Association in Minnesota (CHAIM) will assist in the lighting of candles.
