Can You Identify This Retro St. Louis Park Photo?

We test your local knowledge with an old-school pic.

Time to mix things up a bit.

This week, instead of zooming way in on a photo and having you identify it, we're giving you the whole shot. But there's a catch—the photo is a retro shot, courtesy of the awesome Facebook group "Flashbacks of St. Louis Park."

So...do you know where the above pic was snapped? Post your guess in the comments below.

I just love the cars. Thanks for the look back.

You're welcome, Ned. I definitely recommend that Flashbacks Facebook page for more SLP nostalgia.

Knollwood before the strip was enclosed.

Knollwood, Powers. This part of the building was torn down and replaced with Kohls. My first job was at Powers in the costume jewelry department...

That's awesome, Pam!

And yes...you folks all got it right. Way to go!

Definitely Powers in Knollwood. But, I don't remember the County Seat store next to Powers. Was it a clothing store and if so, what did they carry. C. Solberg

Caroll, this pic must have been shot before the County Seat moved into the mall. They sold primarily Levi jeans, but also sold jean jackets, corduroys, button down shirts, vests, and the like. I loved that store.

I had never even heard of Powers before seeing this. Was that a department store, a la Kohl's?

Powers at Knollwood mall when it still had a JCPenney that had a basement, a Kinney Shoes, and apparently a County Seat. I was quite young, but my mom and grandma took us shopping there.

Powers, there was a much higher end woman's store where County Seat is prior to that. Can't remember the name. Powers became Donaldson's which became Carson Piere Scott which was ripped down and rebuilt as Kohls.

Powers-Knollwood. My mom, Muriel Anderson-Nesheim, was personnel director there for a time before transferring to Burnsville. My sister, Linda Anderson, and I both worked there for short times. I remember their mezzanine area that was so unusual. Vickie (Anderson) Lee.

Photo of Powers and County Seat at Knollwood Mall are in the positions currently occupied by Kohls and Panera.

The name of the higher end store was Harolds!
