St Louis Park Senior High Principal Joann Karetov (left) and Superintendant Rob Metz (middle) welcomed German exchange students, Sandra Strauch (second from left) and Ines Schnell (front middle) as well as their instructor, Thomas Hirsch (right) from the Geschwister-Scholl-Schule in Bensheim, Germany. Last summer, twelve St. Louis Park Senior High German students visited the school while staying there with families. The Germans are in St Louis Park for two weeks to experience American life and high school life in particular. This international exchange is within the framework of the German American Partnership Program (GAPP) established between the two high schools.
The German students are staying with St Louis Park host students Meagan Hein (back, center) and Thanasi Pantazides (back, right). The German American Partnership Program (GAPP) is a non-profit high school exchange program between schools in Germany and the United States, sponsored by the German Foreign Office and by the US Department of State.
