It's Not Too Late To Finish Up Your GED!

The end of December 2013 brings new changes to the GED exam, which will affect current testers.  All exams unfinished on January 2, 2014 will no longer be valid.  It is important for current testers to finish their GED to keep from losing all their hard work or face the task of paying new exam fees and starting over.

Why is the GED exam changing? The existing edition was created in 2002, and can no longer meet the demands of expanding technology and requirement of basic computer skills needed for employment.  Also, the GED exam must meet the same standards as a current day high school graduate.  Since graduation standards are evolving to meet the needs of college or work-bound students, the GED must do the same.  Testing will now be exclusively on the computer; requiring test takers to have basic computer and word processing skills.

For those who have not finished testing for their GED, now is the time. Completing the GED can be a stepping stone to move onto new paths in life, whether it is employment, a better job, or higher education.  A new rule has also gone into effect through the end of the year.  The three tries per year rule has changed, giving testers another opportunity to retake and pass the test before the deadline passes.
