Six New Condos Coming to Wooddale Avenue

The 33 units at Wooddale Flats will be built on the former site of The Church of the Most Holy Trinity.

A six new two- and three-story condominiums will be built along Wooddale Avenue, just south of Excelsior Boulevard.

At its Monday meeting, the St. Louis Park city council unanimously approved Wooddale Flats project, which will bring 33 owner-occupied townhomes to the former site of The Church of the Most Holy Trinity. The condos will sell for about $350,000.

“This really adds to our continuum of housing options for the Park,” council member Anne Mavity said.

Council members voted to go forward with the project despite expressing concerns about re-zoning “single family homes into a multi-family project,” about the potential traffic impacts of the 33 new units and about the noise nuisance posed by a planned dog run. (The dog run may be altered or removed before construction begins.)

The Church of the Most Holy Trinity opened at the site in 1944 and vacated the property in December 2011 after merging with Our Lady of Grace in Edina.

The church/school building, two single-family homes and a playground will be razed.
