Did You Smell Gas This Weekend Near Westwood Hills? Here's Why.

CenterPoint Energy responded after a 911 call Saturday.

A gas smell near Westwood Hills Nature Center this weekend led to a routine repair by CenterPoint Energy.

A St. Louis Park resident called 911 on Saturday to report a natural gas odor at Texas Avenue and Wayzata Boulevard.

"We replaced a filter in a NG regulator in the area," John Ward, a communications manager at CenterPoint Energy, wrote in an email. "These filters help mask the odorant put into NG being released from pressure relief valves in the normal course of gas delivery."

There was no danger posed to residents, Ward said.
