Named the second best public high school in Minnesota in 2010 by Newsweek, St. Louis Park High School has a strong tradition of academic excellence. In addition, the high school offers 23 varsity sports teams and a number of other extra-curricular activities. Notable alumni include Al Franken, Joel and Ethan Cohen, New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman and WCCO-TV sports anchor Mark Rosen. The building is also home to the offices of Independent School District 283.
