The Coalition for Urban Ash Tree Conservation is presenting an Emerald Ash Borer Risk Management Workshop in St. Louis Park on October 22, 2012.
This workshop is for City decision makers such as Mayors, City Councils, City Managers & City Attorneys. It will provide the steps to take to protect your city’s budget and how to reduce the city’s liability from dead ash trees. You will get an overview of your management options and gain insight into the timeline you are up against with a pest that does not negotiate.
The certain devastation from the Emerald Ash Borer is nothing like the Dutch elm disease from the past. Once an ash tree dies, the branches and bark fall quickly because the ash trees dry out so quickly and become a hazard.
The speakers are from your City’s possible future. The City Councilman, City Forester and research experts are from areas that have been or are devastated by this relentless insect. They will be talking about the steps to take to avoid their expensive mistakes and will be sharing their cost-saving solutions.
The workshop is free with coffee/rolls and lunch provided. However, registration is required. This is the first of its kind in Minnesota, and we expect it to fill up quickly.
