Making a Straight 'Ditch' into a More Curvy Minnehaha Creek

Project will restore Minnehaha Creek's original curvaceousness, the Star Tribune reported.

More meandering is in store for Minnehaha Creek in St. Louis Park, the Star Tribune reported Saturday.

"For too long, we've kind of turned our back to the creek," St. Louis Park City Manager Tom Harmening told the newspaper. "There's real value to those natural amenities and we should turn towards them."

The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District is set to spend $1.1 million on restoring Minnehaha Creek between Louisiana Avenue and Meadowbrook Road—a stretch of 3,000 feet.
