Jabs Gets Face Time with 'The Boss'

Jack Jablonski had a chance to meet Bruce Springsteen last week at the Xcel Energy Center.

Jack Jablonski had quite the experience recently, getting a chance to meet "The Boss" while Bruce Springsteen was in the Twin Cities for a concert at the Xcel Energy Center.

Writing on Jack's CaringBridge page, his mother, Leslie, said spending 10 minutes backstage with Springsteen was "a dream come true" for Jack.

Jack grinned ear-to-ear, especially when The Boss planted a kiss on his cheek," Leslie wrote. "And Max was the recipient of a head noogie and I landed a hug and kiss on the cheek. OMG. A taste of Heaven."

What a fabulous week.

It's Friday night and I'm home alone. Max had a hockey game tonight and Jack went to the Gopher's game with the "Trees" who are back in town for a couple of days. Enjoying the quiet, but it's actually not so quiet...been blasting Springsteen all night ;  )  A welcome diversion from all sports on TV.

First of all, a huge thank you to all who voted for Jack as this year's honoree for CBS's "Courage in Sports" award. We are thrilled and honored to see Jack as this year's honoree. So wonderful.

And Bruuuuuuce. Holy Cow! Springsteen has been my favorite rocker since the '80s. To spend 10 minutes with him backstage prior to his show on Monday night was a dream come true. He was gracious, chatty, and fun. I melted.

Jack grinned ear-to-ear, especially when The Boss planted a kiss on his cheek. And Max was the recipient of a head noogie and I landed a hug and kiss on the cheek. OMG. A taste of Heaven.

And, to top it all off, Bruce signed and left us the 6 foot poster that stood behind us in the photo and he left Jack his harmonica from Monday night's show. How cool is that?!

Ahhhh.

Only other news is that Jack rode the bike again through the neighborhood streets near Courage Center. His PT wrapped his hands and attached them to the handle bars. He used his arms to operate the bike and off he went. Fun to watch.

Running ragged this week. Promise to write more soon.

Many thanks again for the Courage in Sports votes.

xoxo
