This is the latest post on Derrick Keller's CaringBridge page, from Saturday. Keller is a former St. Louis Park baseball player who is recovering from leukemia:
Derrick had quite a couple of days yesterday and today. Yesterday he had the bronchoscopy, (the scope down your throat to check the lung) and today they put a scope down his throat to check his stomach and the surrounding area. He was put under for both procedures.
They did find some of the cmv virus, which means he will have to go back on the anti-biotic that was so hard on his kidneys. They put a stint in Derrick, in case he needs dialysis after this cmv is gone. This is what we need to pray for. NO DIALYSIS. Lord, Please keep Derrick's creatinine level down, help his kidneys be able to tolerate the anti-biotics, and wrap your arms around him through this latest ordeal.
I have nothing left in the tank tonight, so I will let you know what else is found after we hear..................

I have had you all in my prayers since I saw the special on TV about Derrick and his battle with the leukemia. I will get my rosary beads going for NO dialysis. My love to your family, what a wonderful young man. Sharon Brust
