Local Company Gets Contractor of the Year Award
For the third consecutive year, Bluestem Construction, based in St. Louis Park, has been recognized with a Contractor of the Year (COTY) Award from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry Minnesota chapter.
This year’s award was for Residential Interiors over $150,000 and featured a condominium renovation on the 10th floor of a former concrete grain elevator. The project was inspired by the homeowner’s love of natural materials and hand-crafted objects, and featured specialized concrete restoration, custom cabinetry with extensive display space, furniture quality curved custom shelves, and natural stone installation.
In addition to the top award, Bluestem Construction received Honorable Mentions in the Commercial Interior category and Kitchens $90,000 to $120,000. The commercial project is the newly opened Shady Oak Vet Clinic on Minnetonka Blvd west of Hwy. 169 and the kitchen was part of a three phase project in White Bear Lake. Bluestem Construction’s previous 2010 and 2011 COTY awards were for projects in St. Louis Park, MN
According to general contractor and company co-owner, Timothy Ferraro, the award “represents extraordinary work on the part of designers and craftspeople and demonstrates how thoughtful collaboration with homeowners creates great results.”
The COTY nominees are judged by the Milwaukee Chapter of NARI based on plans, descriptions, photos, budget, and fulfillment of the clients vision.
