Assistant Girls Basketball Coach Joel Koch Passes Away

- Hometown: St. Louis Park
Joel Koch, who served as an assistant girls basketball coach at St. Louis Park High School and was an avid supporter of Park athletics, passed away suddenly on Tuesday night from a heart attack.
Joel's son, Charlie, is a junior at the high school who played on the football and basketball teams this year. His older son, Alex, plays basketball at Southwest Minnesota State.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Koch family, as well as the St. Louis Park athletics community.
Funeral service is 4 p.m. Friday, April 20, at Westwood Lutheran Church. Interment Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Cosmos, MN.

We always remember, and count our blessings, when we think of the early years at PSI. He volunteered countless hours and was instrumental in organizing parent support. A "can do" problem solver. A leader. Not least, it was so enjoyable to share that experience with him - he was full of humor, enthusiasm and warmth. He will be very much missed in our community.
